Stop IKEAs cheap tricks!
Stop IKEAs cheap tricks!
Every few seconds, a tree falls for the production of IKEA furniture. The furniture giant obtains around 60% of its wood from Eastern Europe and Russia, where illegal logging is widespread. A recent study by the British NGO Earthsight shows that illegal wood from Ukraine ends up in the IKEA supply chain. The controversial wood is used for IKEA's best-selling seating furniture and continues to be sold around the world.
The Bruno Manser Fund has revealed that IKEA is systematically violating the Swiss wood and timber declaration ordinance! The furniture company is concealing the true origin of the wood from which its cheap furniture is made. It is time that IKEA takes responsibility for its entire supply chain and implements the wood and timber declaration ordinance in full.
